"He is young but he'll fit in very well with our squad," said Sunderland boss Steve Bruce was quoted by the AFP.
"It would be unfair to say that he (Welbeck) is a substitute Kenwyne. There are still a few weeks (before the transfer market) closed and hopefully we will have the funds for the expense of players."
