Manchester United striker , Wayne rooney gets this award again this month . This is the third award this season for rooney . he beat Danny Welbeck and Chris Smalling for the nomination .
The striker was in excellent form at the end of 2013 , scoring twice at Spurs , volleying the Reds ' Goal of the Month against Hull on Boxing Day - his 150th Premier League strike for the club - and registering four assists in six games .
After receiving his award and a £ 500 checks for a charity of his choice , the which he donated to Alder Hey Children's Hospital , Rooney was asked for his standout moment of the month . Speaking to ManUtd.com , he said: " It was probably Tottenham away : it was 2-2 and I scored two goals .
" It is always a tough game down there and we knew it was going to be difficult . Going behind twice , then coming back , getting a point out of the game and getting two goals was great . "
