The midfielder Hargreaves still not fit to play as he has battle tendinitis in his knee for more than two years, allowing him just one appearance as a substitute in the first team in that period.Meanwhile, new Portuguese signing Bebe was also overlooked as United surprisingly named a squad of just 24 players when they could have added one more.
Hargreaves and Bebe could be included in a new squad list for the knockout stages if Manchester United make it through from group C which also features Glasgow Rangers, Valencia and Bursaspor.
